How Do You Treat Sensitive and Hypersensitive Skin?
HYPERSENSITIVE SKIN
Hypersensitive skin reacts to internal or external stimuli more readily than ‘normal’ skin. Many different factors may aggravate sensitive skin, for example, soaps, washing powders, makeup or creams, too much heat or cold, clothing fabrics, friction against skin or it could be an indication of general inflammation.
You can help hypersensitive skin by identifying the triggers, for example, shower in warm, not hot water, avoid harsh astringents and exfoliants, use essential oils rather than perfumes, or better still products that are aroma-free. Pat skin dry and gently press on skincare rather than vigorously massaging it in.
