SKINCARE TIPS FOR TRAVEL
Holiday Skincare
For any of you who are travelling soon, especially on a long-haul flight, here are my recommendations for skincare on your break.
Preparation for a long-haul flight
Keeping your skin hydrated on long flights is key. Your skin may become dehydrated due to the low humidity on the plane. It can also appear oilier as it overcompensates for the lack of hydration. The potential for poor sleep on board and possible stress can also impact your skin.
I recommend the following:
- Moisturise your face very well the day before your journey, and keep the moisturiser with you on the flight to top up as needed. Explore our range here.
- Hands and lips will also require extra hydration. Our super nourishing hand creams and lip balms in their spill-proof aluminium containers are perfect for popping in your handbag.
- Cleanse the skin with a very gentle cleanser (no harsh actives), for example our cream cleanser.
- Hydrate inside and out - drink water and regularly moisturise every few hours to counteract dryness.
- Avoid heavy makeup
Post-flight
- Cleanse gently (or even double cleanse) with your favourite nourishing cleanser, e.g., our Radiance Facial Balm or Petitgrain and Everlasting Flower Cream Cleanser.
- Apply a soothing moisturiser to calm your skin post-flight.
At your destination
Rosehip is packed with all the omegas and is fantastic for skin hydration and repair. Rosehip is the hero ingredient and is key in all four of our face oils, and our multi-tasking Radiance Balm (Radiance Balm is an essential travel companion - it can be used as a cleanser, hydrating face mask and overnight skin treat).
Our face oils also contain high levels of antioxidants, which help provide protection against free radicals, as well as helping to repair sun damage.
Helichrysum (everlasting flower) features in Skin Therapy Face Oil and is particularly good as a sun soother and for replenishing sun-irritated skin.
Apply face oils onto your skin well before going out into the sun, give it 20 minutes to allow the product to soak in, then put on your sunscreen and you are ready to go!
